First Bank Basketball Club will take on Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in a crucial Group B encounter at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) on Sunday, December 7, at the Prince Abdallah Al Faisal Sports Hall in Cairo, Egypt.

The Nigerian champions head into the fixture needing a victory to revive their campaign after suffering a heavy 48–85 defeat to Ferroviario Maputo in their opening game.

KPA, on the other hand, began their WBLA journey on a strong note and currently sit in a favourable position in the group standings.

KPA have shown superior efficiency across key metrics, averaging 83 points per game compared to First Bank’s 48.

The Kenyan side also lead in rebounds (47 to 44), assists (24 to 15), steals (20 to 9), and points in the paint (32 to 12).

First Bank will be relying on standout performer Tobiloba Ogedengbe, who currently averages 10 points per game, to steady the team’s offense.

KPA’s Sara Nicole Dickey has been one of the standout players in the competition so far, boasting an efficiency rating of 23 and leading her team’s scoring output.

With both teams eyeing progression from Group B, Sunday’s showdown is expected to be intense, with First Bank needing a positive result to stay in contention for the knockout phase.
