New York Knicks’ Nigerian-born small forward, Ogugua Anunoby (aka OG) admitted he felt a deep level of delight on his return to action in USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA) on a night his team pulled off a record margin lead against Utah Jazz.
Sports247 reports that The Knicks romped to a 23-0 lead after less than 25 minutes, which was an NBA record points difference, and Anunoby, who is registered as a British citizen, was a major catalyst for the wide margin.

Anunoby was playing his first game back after injuring his hamstring on November 14 and he ended up missing a total of nine fixtures, at a point many observers believe he was in the best form of his career.
On his night back, Anunoby hit home 11 points and an assist in 23 minutes, during which time he also forced a bad pass from Jazz forward, Svi Mykhailiuk, as The Knicks recorded the best ever start in NBA history.
The record margin, since play-by-play stats started being recorded in the 1997-98 season, eventually led to a stunning 146-112 victory over The Jazz, and Anunoby admitted he felt good with his team’s performance.
While pointing out that he and his teammates never knew they had set an NBA record with their wide margin in the early stage of the game, Anunoby admitted he missed playing for the fans.
“I didn’t really notice it. We were just playing. Someone told us later. I didn’t even notice they didn’t score; we were just getting stops and going.
“So, we all felt pretty good just playing the way we try to play all the time. (I also) just try to help in any way possible.
“(I always try to) be supportive, talk to my teammates, tell them what I’m seeing, and still help,” Anunoby pointed out.
