New Generation Football Club etched their name into history on Sunday after defeating tournament hosts Dreamland FC 1–0 to claim the 2025 Dreamland–Abia State U19 Cup title at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
The final lived up to expectations, delivering intensity, discipline, and youthful brilliance from both sides. But it was New Generation’s Austin Harrison who stole the spotlight — and ultimately the trophy — with a sensational 30-yard strike early in the first half.
The thunderous effort left the Dreamland goalkeeper rooted as it sailed into the top corner, proving to be the decisive moment in a fiercely contested match.
Harrison’s influence throughout the tournament did not go unnoticed. The dynamic midfielder, who guided his team with composure and leadership, deservedly earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, adding personal glory to New Generation’s triumphant campaign.
Remarkably, New Generation’s path to the title was far from straightforward. They advanced to the semifinals as the best losers, having collected five points from one win and two draws in the group stage.
But once in the knockout phase, they showed resilience and growing confidence, ultimately peaking in the final when it mattered most.

Golden Glove: Victor Cletus (Dreamland FC) – Outstanding throughout the tournament, delivering crucial saves and consistency.

The competition also attracted international attention. French scout Dieng Mane Wally, the Atletico de Madrid chief scout for Africa and a representative of Football Scouts Events Agency in Malaga, was present in Aba.
He expressed admiration for the tournament’s organization and talent pool, promising to return for future editions — a development that highlights the growing reputation of the Dreamland–Abia State U19 Cup as a platform for emerging stars.
With this victory, New Generation FC not only lifted the prestigious youth title but also sent a clear message about their rising potential.
Their 2025 triumph will be remembered as a story of resilience, talent, and a moment of brilliance that separated champions from contenders.
