Sports247 gathered that Chukwueze arrived at Fulham in a loan deal on transfer deadline day after a short-term agreement was reached between The Cottagers and Milan, but he is now thinking about staying put.

However, another agreement has to be reached between both clubs for a loan extension or outright transfer that could see Chukwueze stay at Craven Cottage, where he enjoys the company of two other Nigerian players – Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

Stunning form by Chukwueze in his last two matches have also endeared him to Fulham’s fans and the club’s coach, Marco Silva, who is now pondering a formal bid to seal the star’s full transfer from Milan.

Although Silva said talks are yet to begin towards the former Villarreal of Spain forward joining Fulham on a permanent deal, the gaffer admitted that signing Chukwueze could be part of plans to bolster his attacking options in January.

A report by British newspaper, The Standard noted that the option to buy Chukwueze outright is set between £22-26m, and the Diamond Football Academy of Umuahia product would prefer to stay at Craven Cottage, should the clubs reach an agreement.

“We have protected ourselves with the deal. He’s been very good for us; let’s hope he can do the same things in the next 1-2 games. We have an option with him,” Silva said.

Sports247 reports that talks about a possible extension erupted after Chukwueze got his biggest EPL impact on Tuesday, when he got off the bench to slam home two goals in Fulham’s romp back from 5-1 down in a 5-4 home defeat by Manchester City.
