The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, has received Super Falcons forward Folashade Ijamilusi on a courtesy visit to his office inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, reaffirming Lagos State’s commitment to driving impactful sports development across all levels.

During the meeting, Fatodu emphasized that the Lagos State Government will continue to accelerate support through strategic partnerships involving private individuals and corporate organizations, noting that sustainable progress in sports requires “the right support, the right structure, and the right minds coming together to make things happen.”
The DG praised Ijamilusi for her contributions to Nigerian football, highlighting her role in Nigeria’s triumphant WAFCON campaign in Morocco. He applauded her ongoing efforts in both sports and education, stressing that her involvement serves as an inspiration to the girl-child, encouraging young girls to aim higher across all sporting disciplines.
Fatodu also noted that Ijamilusi previously represented Lagos State at the National Championship, a testament to the state’s unwavering dedication to grassroots talent development.
He revealed that a dedicated liaison team has now been established to strengthen collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring effective engagement toward achieving shared goals, promoting unity, and fostering positive societal impact.
