Galatasaray of Turkey have been reminded that they need to get their top striker, Victor Osimhen back into full fitness before they face their local rivals, Fernebahce in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday night.
Sports247 reports that, with the Istanbul derby looming large on the first day of December, Osimhen has not yet been considered 100% fit after copping an injury during his recent national team duty.

In Osimhen’s absence, Gala have struggled for results and got trounced in the UEFA Champions League last week, which left former Watford FC of England captain, Troy Deeney affirming that The Yellow & Red just have to get their top striker back very quickly.
Deeney, who is now an analyst and recently got into a verbal battle with Super Eagles’ captain, William Troost-Ekong, went on to rate Osimhen among the world’s top five best strikers of the moment.
The Hornets’ former skipper posited, “You can’t underplay how important Osimhen is to this team. They have other players who add similar elements, but we talk about Osimhen among the top five strikers in world football.
“Once you lose that (kind of player), you don’t have somebody large like him who you can pull up from the bench or the youth team.”
Deeney took another look at Galatasaray’s recent run of poor results in Osimhen’s absence and stressed: “He’s someone that they lose and they miss his big part. So, they need to get him back as quickly as possible.”
Spors247 also recalls how the Super Eagles crumbled against DR Congo when Osimhen could not step out for the second half of their World Cup play-offs final, such that Nigerian fans will also be eager to see Osimhen get back fully ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
With AFCON 2025 billed to start on December 21st and Nigeria up against Tanzania on the 23rd, the race is on to get Osimhen fully fit, heading into the continental showpiece in Morocco.
