The coordinator of Ikorodu City FC of Lagos, Richard Okwashi has cited what he referred to as ‘continuous progression’ for a string of successes that all three squads under the outfit’s umbrella are achieving this year.
Sports247 reports that, while Ikorodu City’s senior team is riding high in Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), their junior side is excelling in Lagos Island Division League (LDFA) and the B-squad won Supremacy Cup 2025 on Thursday at National Stadium Legacy Pitch in Surulere.

The B-team, captained by Chiemere Eseka, had to go through penalties to defeat Beyond Limit FA of Ikenne 5-4, after last year’s winners equalised late, to force a 2-2 draw on the dot of regulation time.
The Oga Boys’ joint-head coaches, Adebayo Bello (General) and Emmanuel Otukpe were filled with bolts of relief that their efforts in tinkering the team eventually yielded dividends, then thanked the players for staying firm until the last whistle.
On his part, Okwashi, who played grassroots football with Angels FC, under Coach Santoma, declared: “Thanks to our chairman, Mr Sanmi Doherty, for providing all our needs. He ensures that all our three teams are trained by different coaches.
“We are also able to operate from two different camps in Surulere – which are at Teslim Balogun Stadium hostels and an apartment on Randle Avenue.
“Ikorodu City is growing with our senior squad, team-B and the feeders, because we operate a continuous progression. This means players easily move from one level to the other under the same banner.”
Sports247 also reports that the day began with 36 Lion FC getting the consolation third place victory they so much desired, as the host’s team took out their anger on Tripple 44 of Ibadan in a one sided losers’ final.
