He revealed that the squad remains in high spirits after last weekend’s win and is fully motivated to claim another three points.
“Our win last weekend is now behind us. We’ve shifted our focus completely to Sunday’s match, and the players are responding well,” Offor said.
“The atmosphere in camp is positive, the boys are in good shape, and everyone is eager to make the matchday squad. I’m impressed with the healthy competition within the group.
“At the moment, Abakaliki FC is our main focus. We don’t want to take anything for granted because a win on Sunday will give us the needed push for the rest of the season. We are preparing thoroughly because it’s a very important game for us.”
The coach also extended appreciation to the fans for their strong backing during the opening fixture, urging them to continue supporting the team throughout the campaign.
Akwa United began their season with an impressive 2–0 victory over Solution FC in Uyo, while Abakaliki FC were held to a 1–1 draw at home by Rovers FC.
Sunday’s fixture will be the first-ever meeting between Akwa United and Abakaliki FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Uyo Township Stadium, with live updates to be provided across the club’s official social media platforms.
