Anthony Joshua Under Attack From Former British Champ For Agreeing To Fight Jake Paul

Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua has come under attack from a British icon, Carl Froch, for agreeing to take on social media influencer, Jake Paul in an ‘exhibition fight.’

Sports247 reports that Froch has for the better part of this year’s criticized Joshua for failing to announce his retirement from boxing and the former lower weight champ has now slammed his fellow-Brit for agreeing to a controversial bout.

The fight, which is scheduled to hold on December 19th in Miami, USA, has come under fire from many boxing buffs across the world, while British authorities have warned that it will not be recognized.

However, Joshua has already committed himself to the date in history, which he tagged a ‘mega show,’ but his decision has drawn fresh ire for him from Froch.

The 48-year-old Froch, who is a former super-middleweight world champion, declared that Joshua’s decision is the end of his status as a genuine boxer.

“The last image anyone has of Anthony Joshua is him breakdancing on his head, face-down in the air. Daniel Dubois flattened him over a year ago, where does he go next?

“I poked and pressured Paul to tell him that he’s not a professional fighter. He’s playing at the game and handpicking opponents to suit his narrative.

“People buy into it because he has a massive following on YouTube but nobody in their right mind takes him seriously as a professional fighter,” Froch submitted.
