Sports247 reports that Adeyemi has been on a downward slide for both club and country since the start of this season, such that the feather-haired mulatto would be thrilled to learn that United are keeping their eyes on his situation at Dortmund.

However, interest from The Red Devils comes at a point when Dortmund are thinking of a contract extension for Adeyemi, whose current deal expires in 2027, but he is reportedly demanding a hefty pay-rise and a buyout clause of €80m.

Man U are now said to be banking on a deal with Adeyemi due to his recent agreement with world renowned agent, Jorge Mendes, who has a longstanding link with egg heads at Old Trafford.

A report by BILD newspaper added: “Adeyemi’s future has been plunged into fresh doubt after a clash with coach Niko Kovac last week.

“Kovac hooked the Germany striker during their draw with Hamburg, which came just weeks after Adeyemi threw a water bottle at the BVB bench.”
