Arsenal Fans Slam Analyst For Emphasising Phil Foden’s Assist Before Eberechi Eze’s Goal

Fans of two English Premier League clubs – Arsenal and Manchester City – are at loggerheads, after an analyst put emphasis on a pass by Phil Foden that led to a goal by Eberechi Eze for England’s national team.

Sports247 reports that Eberechi’s 90th minute curling effort was rated a wonder goal in England’s recent 2-0 victory over Serbia, but a reporter opted instead to give more attention to Foden’s assist.

A horde of Arsenal fans have now taken to various social media platforms to complain about the prominence given Foden’s assist instead of according proper credit to Eberechi for his wonder strike.

A cross-section of social media comments trailing the analyst’s line of questions for Eberechi alleged that Gabriel Clarke felt slighted because another Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka had earlier scored The Three Lions’ first goal.

The report by Daily Mail of England stated in part: “The Arsenal midfielder produced a moment of real quality in the 90th minute, curling his shot into the top corner to confirm the Three Lions’ victory.

“But post match, in the view of ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke at least, as much attention was given to the routine pass by Phil Foden that preceded it.

“Clarke’s question to the 27-year-old Eberechi, which asked whether Foden’s pass was the ‘key’ to the strike, has enraged many Arsenal supporters on social media.”
