Aduku Applauds Falconets’ Growth As Nigeria Outclass Ghana Again In WAFU-B Cup

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s head coach, Moses Aduku, has expressed his delight at his team’s continuous progress after the Falconets recorded another emphatic 3-0 victory over Ghana’s Black Princesses in the WAFU-B Girls Cup in Benin Republic.

Speaking after the match, Aduku said the win was not just about the scoreline but a testament to how quickly his players are adapting to his football philosophy.

The coach, who took charge of the side earlier this year, explained that his focus has been on developing a dynamic, possession-based team capable of dictating play and dominating opponents at any level.

“The result is satisfying, but what excites me most is how the girls are beginning to understand our style,” Aduku said. “We played with intent, with energy, and with intelligence. That shows growth — both individually and collectively.”

Aduku highlighted that the Falconets’ improved performance in the second game against Ghana was the product of their hard work in training. He revealed that he had made tactical adjustments after reviewing the first meeting between both sides, focusing on transitional play and defensive discipline.

“In the first game, we created chances but left too many spaces at the back,” he noted. “This time, we were compact and decisive. The players executed the plan perfectly.”

The coach also praised his players’ attitude, saying their willingness to learn and compete has made his job easier. Aduku added that beyond the tournament, his long-term goal is to prepare players who can seamlessly graduate into the Super Falcons, maintaining Nigeria’s dominance in women’s football.

“We are building for the future,” he said. “This team has the potential to produce stars that will serve Nigeria for years to come.”
