Santos Football Academy’s goalkeeper, Olaniyi Yusuf was the hero of the day for his team, as he remakably stopped three penalty kicks to hand his side the 2nd Lann Hydra U13 Cup at Ikotun Community Primary School in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Sports247 was live at the venue and witnessed Yusuf’s tremendous saves in the resultant shootout that ended this year’s edition of the competition that is popularly known as ‘Baba Super Cup.’

Apart from his heroics during the shoot-out, the lanky shot-stopper equally pulled off several remakable saves in the course of the game that left all mouths agape at the venue.
Yusuf’s outstanding form during the match motivated his enterprising team, which is owned and coached by a former grassroots player naned Abiodun Yusuf (aka Santos), to score first in the pulsating final through Waris Ayoola.
It eventually took a controversial sizzler from the host’s squad, Super Accurate Football Academy, to level the scores at 1-1, folowed by fruitless protestations from Yusuf and his colleagues, as the tie went into the lottery of penalties.
Yusuf then stood strong when it mattered most, and his acumen between the posts eventually ensured that it was his captain, Taiwo Abdullahi, who eventually lifted the glittering trophy at the end of it all.
Though obviously rattled, organiser of the competition, Idris Oseni Adewale (aka Coach Super) said he was happy that it all ended peacefully, as he thanked everyone who turned up and the spectators for keeping the peace despite his team’s loss.
He also reminded them that his junior squad had earlier won the competition’s under-10 category, which he said was a very good consolation for him and his players.
