Ghana, Benin Republic Matches Will Help Falconets Prepare To Face Senegal – Joy Igbokwe

Nigeria’s youth female national team, Falconets’ captain, Joy Igbokwe has disclosed that she and her colleagues will use their matches against Ghana and Benin Republic at the WAFU-B U20 Girls Cup as preparations for next year’s clash with Senegal.

Sports247 reports that the Falconets will battle Senegal on February 6th in the first leg of their third round qualification fixture for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup and Igbokwe says they need to be fully focused towards that game.

Consequently, Igbokwe was beaming with delight as she surveyed the Falconets’ camp atmosphere before their opening match versus Ghana on Saturday.

Igbokwe disclosed, “The mood has been amazing. We’ve been training hard and working together as a team. We are ready to represent Nigeria well.

“This will help us in our preparations for our next match against Senegal in the qualifiers. We are very opportune to play against good sides like Ghana and Benin. By the special grace of God, we are prepared to represent Nigeria well.”
