Victor Boniface Puts Aside His Personal Woes To Comfort Embattled Liverpool Attacker

Werder Bremen of Germany striker, Victor Boniface has pushed aside her personal woes in order to lend a few words of encouragement to Liverpool of England’s new forward, Florian Wirtz.

Sports247 gathered that Boniface and Wirtz were teammates in the glorious squad that won the German Bubdesliga title for Bayer Leverkusen the previous season with an unbeaten run and reached the UEFA Europa League final as well.

While Boniface has been shipped out on loan to Bremen, after he lost his goal scoring form and missed a summer transfer move to AC Milan of Italy due to a failed medical, Wirtz is yet to make the best of his switch to Merseyside.

Boniface, who previously played for Real Sapphire of Lagos, Bodo/Glimt of Norway and Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium, is now playing the role of a friend indeed, just a few days after he equally declared that failing to score in 13 games for the Super Eagles does not make him a bad player.

Rather than dwell on his personal issues, Boniface is backing Wirtz to come good at Anfield, with a verdict that the attacker, who joined Liverpool for a fee that could rise to a British record payout of £116m, will soon hit top form in England.

Recalling his pal’s heroics in Leverkusen’s unbeaten side that won the German double two seasons ago, Boniface opined that Wirtz has a lot of what is needed for him to succeed at The Reds.

Boniface added: “With Flo, don’t worry, you guys will enjoy him soon. We all know how brilliant the guy is. I understand why there’s a lot of talk coming.

“Trust me, Flo is a wonderful guy and player. He is hardworking, and soon people will see the real him. He will deliver, and I am rooting for him.”
