DR Congo Tipped To Beat Cameroon, Then Lose To Nigeria In World Cup Qualification Play-offs

As permutations continue rolling ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs in Morocco, a strong tip has emerged that Democratic Republic of Congo will stun Cameroon on Friday and then lose to Nigeria in the final next Sunday.

Sports247 gathered that this verdict came from a former head of the Super Eagles’ medical crew, Dr. Dipo Odunuga, who stated emphatically, that DR Congo will beat Cameroon in the play-offs’ second semi-final on Friday, while Nigeria will first defeat Gabon on Thursday.

Odunuga gave his predictions during the maiden broadcast of a new live streaming programme on YouTube, tagged ‘Inside Naija Sports’ from the television studio of Sports247 Naija.

However, while speaking further during the’Hot Seat’ segment of the programme that airs live from 2:15pm every Friday, Odunuga raised a point of warning that the Eagles will have to work harder in order to win the last stage of the play-offs come March 2026 in Mexico.

The retired medical doctor posited: “I think the final will be between Nigeria and DR Congo. I know we will beat them, because we are more skillful than them. However, my fear is after this stage. Will we win the intercontinental play-offs as well?”
