Liverpool-based Darasimi Olalekan Determined To Play For Chelsea

A Nigerian youngster based in Liverpool, England, Oluwadarasimi Emmanuel Olalekan has reiterated his ambition of playing for Chelsea instead of that country’s current champions, whose home ground is close to where he now lives on Merseyside.

The fair-skinned lad, who is fondly called ‘Dara,’ told Sports247 that he became a fan of Chelsea as a kid in Nigeria and he is not ready to change his allegiance simply because he is now living close to their English Premier League rivals, Liverpool FC.

To prove his love for The Blues of London as a true devotion, Dara, who was the head boy at Masterguide College near Egbeda, Lagos before travelling to England early this year, revealed that he is already making plans to enroll at Chelsea’s academy.

Despite being a right-full-back defender uring his days in Lagos, Dara disclosed that Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, and former Manchester United Ace, Cristiano Ronaldo are his football heroes.

Darasimi Olalekan added: “I now live at Merseyside in Liverpool, England. I attend the City of Liverpool College and I play for the school’s football team.

“Although I now live in Liverpool, my favourite club is still Chelsea, while my football heroes are Didier Drogba and Cristiano Ronaldo. I started as a defender in Lagos, but I now prefer playing on the right wing.

“My biggest ambition in football is to play for Chelsea’s academy, but I also want to become an aeronautical engineer and face it as a profession after football. My mission statement is: forget what people will say, just do what you love to do.”
