Young Africans (Yanga) striker Clement Mzize has been nominated for the CAF Best Goal of the Year 2024–2025 award following his sensational strike against TP Mazembe at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which helped his side to a 3–1 victory.
The goal — a moment of pure brilliance that electrified the crowd — has now placed the young forward among Africa’s elite nominees for the prestigious accolade. This marks Mzize’s first-ever appearance in the CAF awards race, a significant milestone in his rapidly rising career.

Mzize, who has recently been linked with a move to Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis, continues to impress with his composure, confidence, and clinical finishing.
In a show of support, Yanga have urged their fans and members to cast their votes for the talented striker to help him bring the award home.
The last time a Tanzanian club made waves at the CAF awards was three seasons ago, when Simba SC’s Senegalese star Pape Osmane Sakho emerged as the top scorer in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Now, Mzize’s name stands as a new symbol of Tanzanian football excellence — proof that Yanga’s youth system continues to produce players capable of shining on the continental stage.
