Gabon’s national team, the Panthers, have released a formidable 27-man squad ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoff clash against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Head coach Thierry Mouyouma made the announcement during a press conference on Thursday, confirming the inclusion of the country’s top talents as Gabon aim for a first-ever World Cup appearance.

Veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headlines the list, joined by established stars Mario Lemina, Denis Bouanga, Bruno Ecuele Manga, and Guélor Kanga. Rising midfielder Noha Lemina of Yverdon Sport FC (Switzerland) also earns his place, underlining Gabon’s intent to combine youth with experience.
The highly anticipated showdown is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the C.S. Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium, Rabat, Morocco. The winner between Gabon and Nigeria will face the victor of Cameroon vs DR Congo in the next round of the African playoffs.
