‘Ijaball’ Mastermind Daniel Ogunmodede Joins CAF B Licence Coaching Course in Abuja — Eyes Bigger Heights For Nigerian Football

Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, fondly known as Ijaball, has expressed his excitement after joining the final phase of the CAF B License Coaching Course currently taking place in Abuja.

The tactical genius, who recently guided Remo Stars to their maiden Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, described the programme as “an opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and keep improving the beautiful game in Nigeria.”

“I’m delighted to be part of the CAF B License final phase in Abuja,” Ogunmodede said.

“It’s a privilege to learn alongside esteemed instructors and colleagues — together we can be better.”

Ogunmodede, a holder of a UEFA A License and one of the country’s most progressive coaches, has become a household name for his distinctive playing philosophy — “Ijaball” — a fast, disciplined, possession-based style that has transformed Remo Stars into one of the most admired sides in the NPFL.

Under his leadership, the Ikenne-based club has achieved historic milestones, qualifying for continental football and redefining modern tactical standards in Nigerian club management.

His inclusion in the CAF B License programme further underlines his commitment to continuous growth and excellence — traits that have made him one of the rising stars of African coaching.

Ogunmodede, who also serves as an assistant coach with the Super Eagles, remains passionate about youth development and believes education is the key to Nigeria’s football evolution.

“Every day is a chance to learn, to adapt, and to grow,” he added.

“Our aim is not just to coach — it’s to elevate Nigerian football to global standards.”
