Nigeria’s Akomolede Babatunde Impresses for Anderlecht Youth in Premier League International Cup

Former Board City of Lagos State player Akomolede Babatunde has continued his impressive development after being named among the R.S.C. Anderlecht U21 squad participating in the Premier League International Cup in England.

Making his first-ever appearance on English soil, Babatunde featured as Anderlecht U21 played out a thrilling 2–2 draw against Sunderland U21 at the iconic Stadium of Light, home of Premier League side Sunderland AFC.

The promising Nigerian youngster is expected to be in action again when Anderlecht face Manchester United U21 on December 2, in what promises to be another exciting test for the Belgian side.

The Premier League International Cup brings together 32 youth teams from 10 European leagues, divided into four groups of eight. Each group features four English clubs and four continental sides, with teams playing four matches against British opponents. The top two teams in each group advance to the quarter-finals.

With his technical ability, composure, and growing confidence, Akomolede Babatunde continues to make a strong impression in Europe — representing Nigeria proudly as he climbs the ranks with Anderlecht’s Purple and White family.
