People residing in France are leading the purchase of tickets for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) among countries outside the African continent, Sports 247 reports.
This is according to figures released for Phases 1 and 2 of ticket sales.

The data, published by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), highlights the global enthusiasm surrounding the upcoming continental showpiece to be hosted in Morocco.
France tops the list with an impressive 109,237 tickets sold—by far the highest number outside Africa.
This figure reflects the immense interest from the country’s large African diaspora community, particularly from Francophone nations such as Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Their deep cultural and linguistic connections to Morocco and African football have made them key contributors to the surge in ticket demand.
Belgium ranks second with 7,046 tickets, followed by the Netherlands (5,958), the United Kingdom (5,127), and Canada (3,849) rounding out the top five. Other notable entries in the top ten include Germany (3,056), Switzerland (1,714), the United States (1,245), Spain (1,193), and Italy (970).
CAF officials noted that the early ticket sales phases have drawn attention not only from within Africa but also from fans across Europe and North America.
This growing global interest underscores AFCON’s rising status as one of the most followed continental tournaments in world football.
AFCON 2025, scheduled to be hosted by Morocco, in December and it promises to deliver an electrifying atmosphere as African teams compete for continental glory.
The strong ticket demand from outside the continent also signals the unity of African football fans worldwide, reaffirming the sport’s power to connect communities across borders.
