Newly appointed Bendel Insurance Technical Manager, Kennedy Boboye, will officially begin his mission to save the Benin Arsenals from relegation when his side faces Kun Khalifat FC this Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, in a decisive Matchday 10 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Kick-off is 4 p.m.
With Insurance languishing second from bottom on the NPFL table with just six points, Boboye’s task is clear — restore confidence, rebuild morale, and steer the team away from danger.

The experienced tactician, who took over two weeks ago following the suspension of former coach Greg Ikhenoba, is renowned for transforming struggling teams. Having won the NPFL title twice — first with Plateau United in 2017 and later with Akwa United in 2021 — Boboye’s appointment has sparked new optimism among fans and the Edo football community.
Since assuming duty, he has wasted no time in reorganizing the squad, focusing on fitness, tactical discipline, and psychological readiness. Rigorous training sessions at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and in the team’s closed camp have been geared toward instilling belief and identity in a side desperate for revival.
Ahead of the trip to Owerri, Boboye has introduced several changes to the team sheet — giving opportunities to previously unused players while placing a few regulars on special conditioning programs.
Speaking confidently ahead of his first game in charge, Boboye said:
“This is the start of our rescue mission. The boys are in high spirits and ready to fight. With focus, hard work, and unity, Bendel Insurance will rise again.”
For the Edo faithful, Sunday’s clash marks more than just another NPFL fixture — it’s the beginning of Kennedy Boboye’s survival mission, a determined push to guide Bendel Insurance away from the relegation zone and back into stability
