Nigeria’s Ibrahim Said emerging as a bright new star at Motherwell FC

Ibrahim Muhammad Said, born on June 15, 2002, in Kano, Nigeria, is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting young wingers in the Scottish Premiership, currently playing for Motherwell FC.

Said, who can operate effectively on either flank, wears the number 90 shirt for the Steelmen and joined the Scottish club in July 2025 on a two-year deal that runs until 2027.

Before making the move to Scotland, the 23-year-old began his football journey with Dabo Babes Academy in Nigeria, where he caught the attention of European scouts with his pace and creativity.

His breakthrough came in Denmark with Viborg FF, where he developed a reputation as a dynamic winger with an eye for goal and the ability to unlock defences.

Known for his explosive speed, sharp dribbling skills, and confidence in one-on-one situations, Ibrahim has been described by fans as “a spark on the wings” — a player capable of turning a game around in an instant.

One of the defining moments of his early career came during the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, where he scored a hat-trick for Nigeria against Ecuador — a performance that first brought him into the international spotlight.

Now at Motherwell, Ibrahim Said is determined to take his game to the next level. His ambition, technical quality, and work ethic have already begun to make an impression in the Scottish league, as he continues to adapt to a higher level of competition.

With his blend of raw talent and determination, Ibrahim Said represents the new generation of Nigerian footballers making their mark in Europe. If his early performances are anything to go by, the winger could soon be one of the standout African stars in Scottish football.
