Warri Wolves continued their impressive away form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a stunning 1–0 victory over Enyimba FC in Aba on Matchday 9, their third win on the road this season.
Assistant coach Johnny Austin credited divine favour and disciplined execution for the result, describing the win as a reward for teamwork and preparation.

“First of all, glory be to the Most High God who made this possible,” Austin told reporters after the game.
“We played well at home last week but only managed a draw. Coming here, our aim was to get at least a point, but God gave us all three.”
Austin revealed that his team had studied Enyimba carefully and approached the game with a specific strategy to frustrate their hosts and hit on the counterattack.
“We had a big plan because we got some information about Enyimba,” he said. “Our strategy was to get an early goal and defend it. Thankfully, we executed that perfectly.”
Asked about Warri Wolves’ remarkable away form, Austin noted that playing on the road often eases the pressure on his players compared to home matches.
“At home, there’s always more pressure because the fans expect three points every time,” he explained.
“Away from home, the players are freer. We use our strength in attack and play on the counter. It has been working for us.”
On the team’s next steps, Austin expressed confidence that the Wolves will keep building on their unbeaten run.
“The plan is to continue our good form and stay consistent. The league is a marathon, not a knockout competition, so expect more from us,” he added.
Captain of the side also echoed the coach’s sentiment, saying the players were simply told to “go in and enjoy themselves” a message that clearly paid off in Aba.
