Werblack Wines Cup 2025: ‘Emma Gold’ Targets Better Result In Next Match, Following 2-0 Loss On Saturday

Werblack Wines Synergy Cup 2025 organised by Island All-Stars Sports Club (IASC) started in grand style on Saturday, with last year’s most valuable player, Chukwudi Emmanuel (aka Emma Gold) on the losing side, but he promised to do better in their next game.

‘Emma Gold’ declared in an exclusive chat with Sports247 on Saturday, right after the loss suffered by his team, Beats Electonics against Wiz Clothings, that he and his colleagues will do better in their next fixture.

Chukwudi boldly stated, “I was the highest goal scorer of the last tournament and the MVP. But, it’s quite unfortunate that we’ve lost our first match this year.

“That’s how we also started last year, though, as we lost the first match 3-0, but we had a better team then than now. This time, the sharing was not fair enough.

“But, I still believe we can do well, because nothing is impossible. It’s when you give up that you don’t expect anything. So,I am not giving up … despite the fact that I lost the first game.”

‘Emma Gold’ then went on to outline the plan that he and his colleagues will adopt in order to win their next match, even as he also went spiritual with an affirmation that they will need God’s help in seeing them through.

“I know there will be a turnaround, and I will give my best to help the team. By the grace of God, we will recover. God did it last year and He will do it again.

“Losing the first game is not a disaster because I still have five matches to go. So, I’m not giving up. I strongly believe that something different will happen in the next game,” Chukwudi enthused.

He concluded by admitting that he could not find his rhythm for goals during Saturday’s loss, as the opponents knew he was his team’s dangerman, and they deviced a strategy to mark him out, but enthused that he will do better the next time out.

“They believe that I am the man of the moment, and everybody wanted to make sure that I didn’t move. It’s just a game. So, for the next match, I’ll plan well then try to do something better,” Emmanuel assured.
