Dar es Salaam — Yanga Princess, under the guidance of head coach Edna Lema, have intensified their preparations for the upcoming Women’s Premier League season, set to kick off next month.

Coach Lema expressed strong confidence in her squad’s ability to challenge for the title, emphasizing the quality and balance of the players signed during the transfer window.

“We have the best and strongest squad this season. In previous years, we showed glimpses of our quality, especially in the Community Shield, even though we didn’t reach the final,” said Lema.

As the only female coach in the 12-team Women’s League, Lema is determined to lead her team to new heights, inspired by the consistent success of the Young Africans SC (Yanga) men’s team.

Yanga Princess have made notable international signings, including Jeannine Mukandayisenga from Rwanda and Precious Christopher from Nigeria, along with players from Kenya and other countries across Africa.

With renewed determination and a strengthened squad, the Dar es Salaam-based side is eyeing a dominant season, aiming to bring home the Women’s Premier League crown and solidify Yanga’s legacy in Tanzanian football.
