WBA Orders Kubrat Pulev vs Itauma Title Bout

The World Boxing Association (WBA) has officially ordered reigning WBA Regular Heavyweight Champion Kubrat Pulev to defend his title against the division’s No. 1 contender, Moses Itauma.

Both camps have until November 14 to reach an agreement for the championship showdown.

If no deal is finalized within the deadline, the WBA will call for a purse bid, where promoters can submit sealed offers to stage the bout.

The announcement marks a significant development in the heavyweight division, as Itauma continues his rapid rise through the professional ranks.

The British-Nigerian prospect, known for his speed, composure, and knockout power, has been widely tipped as one of boxing’s brightest young stars.

Pulev, 43, captured the WBA Regular Title earlier this year and remains one of the sport’s most experienced campaigners.

The Bulgarian veteran has previously challenged for the unified world title twice, facing elite names such as Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua.

Itauma had already hinted at a December 13 return to the ring — and with this latest WBA directive, that date could now mark the biggest night of his career.

A potential Pulev vs Itauma showdown would pit experience against youth, setting the stage for a compelling generational clash in the heavyweight ranks.

Boxing fans around the world will be watching closely as negotiations unfold in the coming weeks.
