Tanzania’s Azam FC Depart for CAF Confederation Cup Clash Against KMKM in Zanzibar

Dar es Salaam – Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC have departed for Zanzibar ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first-round fixture against KMKM FC, scheduled for Saturday night at 10:15 p.m. at the New Amaan Complex.

Head coach Florent Ibenge emphasized the importance of proper preparation and early acclimatization, urging his players to adjust quickly to the playing conditions in Zanzibar.

“We will have four days of preparation, which is quite enough for the players to adapt to the environment and weather, considering that they are not very different from Dar es Salaam,” said Ibenge.

Despite traveling with a strong squad, Azam FC will be without key players Feisal Salum ‘Fei Toto’ and Yahya Zaid, who were left out of the traveling party.

The Tanzanian giants will be looking to secure a positive result away from home as they aim for a deep run in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup. The match also marks an all-Tanzanian affair, as both clubs will be flying the national flag on the continental stage.
