Nigeria’s Precious Christopher Fires Yanga Princess To Victory In Tanzania’s Community Shield

Dar es Salaam – Nigerian forward Precious Christopher was on target as Yanga Princess sealed a comfortable 3–0 victory over Mashujaa Queens to claim third place in the Tanzania Women’s Community Shield on Saturday.

The match, played at the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, saw Yanga Princess bounce back from their semi-final defeat in impressive fashion, with Precious Christopher delivering a confident display in front of goal.

The Nigerian striker, who rejoined Yanga Princess this season after a stint with Simba Queens, opened her scoring account for the new campaign with a well-taken goal that set her team on course for victory.

Rwandan attacker Jenianne Mukandayisenga and Ethiopian forward Aregash Kalsa added a goal each to complete the emphatic win for Yanga Princess.

For Precious, the match was more than just a return to the scoresheet — it marked a strong statement of intent following her move back to Yanga Princess, the club where she first made her name in Tanzanian women’s football.

Her pace, movement, and attacking awareness caused constant problems for the Mashujaa Queens’ defense, while her link-up play with Mukandayisenga created several clear chances that could have added to the scoreline.

Speaking after the game, a delighted Precious said she was happy to be back at Yanga and to contribute to the team’s success.

> “It feels great to score again for Yanga. The support here has always been special, and I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve more this season,” she said.

Despite the convincing win, Yanga Princess continue their search for their first-ever Community Shield title since the competition’s inception. However, the victory provided a timely morale boost ahead of the start of the new league campaign
