BG Sports Football Academy, one of Lagos State’s most vibrant youth football institutions, has officially announced the appointment of Coach Mustapha Aminu as their new Head Coach.
The talented tactician, who hails from Nasarawa State and is based in Benin City, Edo State, rose to prominence earlier this year after a viral Facebook post highlighted his impressive coaching philosophy, leadership qualities, and deep commitment to youth development.

The post caught the attention of BG Sports officials, who were quick to engage him in discussions about joining their coaching setup.
Following successful talks, the academy has now formally welcomed Coach Mustapha into the BG Sports family, marking a major milestone in his coaching career.
He has since relocated to Lagos State to take up his new role — his first-ever coaching appointment in the state.
“This is a dream come true for me,” Coach Mustapha said shortly after signing. “I’ve always believed in developing young talents and giving them the platform to succeed. I’m excited to begin this journey with BG Sports and help build the next generation of stars.”
Coach Mustapha will make his official debut during the BG Sports Scouting Network Program, scheduled for October 22nd–25th, 2025, where top European scouts will be in attendance to spot emerging football talents from across Nigeria.
BG Sports Academy expressed confidence in their new head coach, praising his dedication, modern tactical approach, and proven passion for grassroots football development.
“Coach Mustapha represents what BG Sports stands for — integrity, innovation, and inspiration. We believe he’ll have a great impact on our young players,” said an academy representative.
-Congratulations to Coach Mustapha Aminu on this exciting new chapter!
A new beginning in Lagos — and a bright future for youth football at BG Sports Football Academy.
