Dar es Salaam – Simba Queens assistant coach, Mussa Hassan ‘Mgosi’, has expressed strong confidence that his team will dominate the 2024/2025 season and win all available trophies, beginning with the Community Shield.
Speaking to www.sports247.ng, Coach Mgosi said the club’s summer signings have strengthened the squad significantly, giving them the quality and depth needed to challenge for every title. He added that the technical bench and players are united by a common goal — to restore Simba Queens’ status as one of the top women’s football clubs in East Africa.
“We have many players with great ability and experience from various countries, including Nigeria. I believe we are going to restore our respect, starting with the Community Shield,” said Mgosi.
The assistant coach also emphasized that the team is determined to return to international competitions, noting that the current squad possesses the balance and experience to make that goal achievable.
Simba Queens will open the Community Shield tomorrow, October 9, with a crucial match against Mlandizi Queens, while Young Africans will face defending champions JKT Queens in the other fixture. The winners of both matches will meet in the final scheduled for October 11.
Following the Community Shield, the new Serengeti Lite Women’s League season will officially kick off, ushering in another exciting chapter of women’s football in Tanzania.
