Coastal Union Appoints Mohamed Muya as New Head Coach After Sacking Ally Ameer

Tanzania Premier League side Coastal Union has officially unveiled Mohamed Muya as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Ally Mohamed Ameer due to a string of poor results in the ongoing NBC Premier League.

Muya, who impressed last season while guiding Fountain Gate FC before parting ways with the club, has signed a one-year contract with the Tanga-based outfit. His appointment marks the beginning of what many fans hope will be a revival for Coastal Union, who have struggled for form in recent matches.

Speaking shortly after his unveiling, the new coach expressed both gratitude and determination to turn the club’s fortunes around.

“I feel happy to be here because Coastal Union is a big club with a long history in Tanzanian football,” said Muya. “I haven’t come here expecting miracles, but I believe with cooperation from the leaders, players, and fans, we can achieve the club’s goals.”

Muya is well known for his ability to nurture young talent — most notably striker Seleman Mwalimu, whose impressive form under Muya’s guidance earned him a move to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco. During his time at Fountain Gate, Muya also helped his side finish the first round of the NBC Premier League among the top three.

Coastal Union supporters will now look to the new tactician to bring stability and renewed confidence as the team seeks to climb the league table and reestablish itself as one of Tanzania’s football powerhouses.
