Young Africans Defender Ibrahim Bacca Handed Three-Match Ban

Dar es Salaam – Young Africans central defender Ibrahim Bacca has been handed a three-match suspension in the NBC Premier League following an incident involving a deliberate foul on a Mbeya City player.

The decision was issued by the 72-hour disciplinary committee after officials of Mbeya City lodged a formal complaint with the league administrators.

Young Africans have acknowledged receipt of the ruling but have expressed their intention to appeal. The club also raised concerns regarding the officiating of referee Omary Mdoe, claiming he failed to adequately protect their right-back Izrael Mwenda during the match.

As a result of the suspension, Bacca will be forced to sit out Young Africans’ upcoming fixtures against Mtibwa Sugar, Mashujaa FC, and JKT Tanzania.

The disciplinary ruling is expected to add pressure on the league champions, who will have to adjust their defensive setup in his absence.
