Dimitar Pantev Appointed Simba SC Head Coach on Two-Year Deal

Bulgarian tactician Dimitar Nikolaev Pantev has officially agreed to become the new head coach of Tanzanian giants Simba SC, signing a two-year contract that runs until June 2027.

According to club sources, Simba finalized the deal after paying compensation to Gaborone United, allowing the 49-year-old coach to leave the Botswana champions.

Dimitar Pantev is expected to arrive in Dar es Salaam tomorrow, with travel arrangements already completed. He will be accompanied by just one assistant coach, as Simba opted to retain their existing technical team until their contracts expire in June 2025. Beyond that point, Pantev will have the authority to decide which members of the staff remain.

The Bulgarian arrives with a strong pedigree, having previously won league titles with Victoria United in Cameroon and most recently with Gaborone United in Botswana, where his attacking and possession-based football drew widespread praise.

Simba fans will now look to Pantev to restore the club’s domestic dominance and guide them to success on the continental stage following the departure of Fadlu Davids, who joined Morocco’s Raja Casablanca.
