Singida Black Stars goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has described his recent call-up to the Nigerian national team as a great honour, not only for himself but also for his club.
The shot-stopper attributed the recognition to his strong performances in the CAF Confederation Cup, where he impressed with consistency and composure between the posts.

“It is not the first time I have been called up to the national team, but this time it is very important because I have raised the profile of my club, Singida Black Stars. This season, we are determined to go far in every competition,” Obasogie said.
Obasogie, who joined Singida during last season’s short transfer window, praised the support he has received at the club, saying it has motivated him to work harder.
“Since I came to Singida, I have been getting great cooperation from the players and the management. That gives me the strength to keep pushing so we can achieve the goals we’ve set this season,” he added.
The Nigerian goalkeeper now hopes his international recognition will inspire both him and Singida Black Stars to reach new heights domestically and on the continental stage.
