“The Present, the Future Is Bright for Our Youth” — Liameed Assures As Nigeria Turns 65

Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association and South-West Zonal Coordinator for the 2025 U19 NPFL Youth Championship, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, has expressed confidence in the potential of Nigerian youths as the country celebrates 65 years of independence today, October 1.

Liameed described the nation’s young talents as its greatest asset, stressing that football and other sports have continued to provide a platform for them to shine. He said the U19 NPFL Youth Championship will further expose the creativity, skill, and determination of Nigerian youths to the world.

“The present and the future is bright for our youth. Nigeria at 65 is a reminder that our young people carry the torch of hope, and we must continue to invest in them, guide them, and celebrate their achievements,” Liameed declared.

He emphasized that Lagos State remains committed to youth development and assured that the South-West zone will play a leading role in producing the next generation of stars for Nigerian football.

Liameed also urged Nigerians to support grassroots initiatives, noting that nurturing young talents is the surest way to guarantee the future success of the national teams and the country at large.
