Dar es Salaam – Young Africans (Yanga) head coach, Roman Folz, has admitted that the NBC Premier League is proving more competitive than he initially thought.
The 36-year-old Frenchman said he plans to increase training sessions to ensure his team maintains its winning form and successfully defends the league title they won last season.

“I have watched several league matches and noticed that all teams provide resistance regardless of the result. This shows that the Tanzanian Championship is a very competitive league, so we must play with a good plan,” said Folz.
He also defended criticism that Yanga had not yet displayed their best football, noting that it is still early in the season and he is working on building a system while identifying his strongest first team.
Yanga began their title defense in style on Sunday, securing a 3-0 victory over Pamba Jiji FC in their opening match of the NBC Premier League.
