Nigeria’s female youth national team, Falconets’ coach, Moses Aduku has promised that his side will go all out against Rwanda in this weekend’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier, Sports247 reports.
Although Aduku’s squad will be the visitors for the upcoming game in Kigali, the former youth international declared emphatically that he wants to make the second leg at home easier for the Falconets to win.
He heaped praises on the players for meeting up to all challenges they faced during six weeks of camping ahead of the game and equally thanked officials of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for ensuring the preparations went on unhindered.
Aduku noted, “First and foremost, we want to thank God for the preparation. Five weeks plus, and it has been tough. From the beginning, with 35 players, and now just 19.
“It has not been easy and, honestly, I must give it to the girls for holding on. They went through conditioning, techniques and tactics … right now, we are on the same page.”
He then turned his attention fully on the impending match and reasoned that the only result the team is expected to get in Kigali is victory, but conceded that it will not be a stroll in the park for them against their ambitious hosts.
Aduku theorised, “It’s time for execution of all that we’ve worked on, and I believe these girls will do us proud. Preparation is good, and that’s where I want to appreciate the leadership of the NFF for giving us this platform.
“We stayed together for six weeks before this game. So, honestly, it has been good. It has been awesome, with many players from different clubs but, right now, we are one united entity.
“We are good to go, and we want to see how we can ensure that the second leg will be ours. It is not going to be easy, but we are planning to go all out in Rwanda in order to conclude the game there.”
The former battling midfielder rounded off by acknowledging that their hosts will not give up easily, as Rwanda reached this stage of the qualifiers with some giant killing results and they are eager to get a bigger scalp against Nigeria.
“I know they are not a pushover. They won their last game against Zimbabwe, and we know they are a good side. We watched them in some of their past games. So, I’m telling our fans to pray for us, and we’ll come back with a result,” Aduku solicited.
