Super Falcons star Esther Okoronkwo was unstoppable, scoring a brace and setting up another goal as she led her side to a dominant 7-0 victory.
She opened the scoring with a brilliant free kick in the 5th minute, setting the tone for a spectacular display before adding her second in the 66th. The victory ended Vancouver’s eight-game unbeaten run and confirmed Toronto as the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
Toronto’s other goals came through Kaylee Hunter, who struck twice to take her tally to 12 for the season, Kaela Hansen, Sarah Stratigakis, and Jade Kovacevic, who scored her first of the year. The result also marked Toronto’s biggest win of the campaign as they remain top of the standings.
Esther continues her fine form, carrying the momentum from WAFCON 2024 to club level with breathtaking goals and pinpoint assists.
Her performance takes her season tally to 7 goals and 7 assists. With this commanding win, AFC Toronto becomes the first team to secure a spot in the NSL playoffs, with 4 games still to play.
