Six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, made a dream start to life in Saudi Arabia, scoring on her debut as Al Hilal defeated Al Qadsiah 4–3 in a pulsating Saudi Women’s Premier League encounter on Friday.

The strike came just moments after Al Qadsiah had drawn level, highlighting the Nigerian international’s composure in decisive moments.

Earlier, Al Hilal took control of the game through Al Bandari Mobarak, who scored twice in quick succession in the 30th and 36th minutes.

Her second was expertly set up by Moroccan captain and 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations top scorer Ghizlane Chebbak, showcasing the attacking depth in the Riyadh-based side.

However, Léa Le Garrec struck late in the first half to give Al Qadsiah hope heading into the break.

The second half saw Al Qadsiah hit back through Adriana in the 58th minute, but Oshoala quickly restored order for Al Hilal with her composed finish from the spot.

Portuguese forward Jéssica Silva then made it 4–2 in the 74th minute, seemingly putting the game beyond doubt.

Yet, German star Dzsenifer Marozsán netted in stoppage time to set up a tense finale before Al Hilal held on for victory.

Oshoala’s debut goal not only delighted Al Hilal fans but also signaled her intent to play a central role in the club’s title push.

Her arrival further underscores the growing profile of the Saudi Women’s Premier League, which continues to attract world-class talent.
