Nigerian goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye, currently signed with Greek Super League club FC Volos, has expressed his delight and determination upon being recalled to the Super Eagles squad for upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
“It’s always a big honour to represent the green badge and wear the colours of Nigeria. I’m super excited to be called up again! Together, we can do it,” the goalkeeper stated, reflecting his renewed pride and commitment.

Adeleye’s return to the national setup comes after a notable club career trajectory. Having signed a two-year deal with FC Volos in July 2025, he joined from Cypriot First Division side Enosis Neon Paralimni, where he featured in 30 matches last season. Prior to his stint in Cyprus, he established himself as a reliable presence in Israel, featuring for Hapoel Katamon and Hapoel Jerusalem over six years.
Internationally, Adeleye first earned senior recognition in June 2022, and made his debut in June 2023, playing in a 3-2 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier victory over Sierra Leone. Since then, he has looked to build on that momentum and solidify his place within the national team.
His club move to Greece is seen as a strategic step toward achieving that aim, offering increased visibility and the chance to impress Super Eagles selectors.
With aspirations high and a new chapter underway both at club and international level, Adeleye is ready to defend Nigeria’s goal with renewed fervor—a story of resilience, ambition, and national pride.
