Abuja will take center stage in African football development next month as FC Footwork of Abuja hosts a major Scouting Tournament from October 6 to 8, 2025, at the prestigious FIFA Goal Project Pitch.
The highly anticipated event will feature 10 top teams competing for the attention of scouts and agents from across Europe, with Belgian football talent experts Dirk Engelbinck and Jordy Engelbinck already confirmed to attend. Their mission is clear — to unearth the next generation of African stars ready to step onto the global stage.

The tournament is organized and hosted by Sir Alhaji Labeeb Rabiu Yarima, the CEO of FC Footwork, a renowned academy with a track record of producing international footballers. Over the years, FC Footwork’s Scouting Tournaments have opened doors for several Nigerian talents who now shine in top leagues around the world.
Notable alumni of past editions include Alhassan Yusuf (New England Revolution, USA), Umar Abubakar (Famalicão, Portugal), Hafiz Ibrahim (Stade Reims, France), Ibrahim Aliyu (Houston Dynamo, USA), Peter Nnemeka (HNK Hajduk, Croatia), Anthony Raymond (HNK Hajduk, Croatia), Suleman Abubakar (Celta Vigo, Spain), Marcus Haruna (FK Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina), and Ahmed Adepoju (Albania).
The Abuja tournament is expected to draw significant local and international attention, not only because of the presence of high-profile scouts but also because of the proven reputation of FC Footwork in nurturing talent. For young Nigerian footballers, this represents a golden chance to impress European scouts and possibly earn life-changing opportunities abroad.
With excitement already building, Abuja is set to become the heartbeat of African scouting in early October, as the FIFA Goal Project Pitch transforms into a stage where raw talent meets global opportunity.
