The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has fined Warri Wolves ₦1 million for breaching its Framework and Rules during their Matchday 2 fixture against Rangers on Sunday.
The sanction follows the club’s failure to provide prompt, adequate, and effective security at their adopted home ground in Ozoro.

The lapse reportedly caused a delay to the scheduled 4 p.m. kickoff.
According to an official statement, Warri Wolves must submit a detailed and effective security plan to the NPFL board within seven working days of receiving the notice.
The league further directed the newly promoted side to strengthen their matchday security arrangements.
Warri Wolves also have 48 hours from the date of the notice to lodge an appeal against the ruling.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the club brought policemen from Warri in their own vehicle to the match venue in Ozoro instead of utilizing the local police unit assigned to the area.
Despite the fine, Warri Wolves have started the new NPFL campaign impressively.
The Delta-based side leads the log with six points after back-to-back victories — a 2-0 win over Rangers at home and a 1-0 away triumph against Katsina United on the opening day.
All attempts to get an official response from Warri Wolves regarding the sanction proved unsuccessful as of press time.
