Bayelsa Queens Begin Quest for CAF Women’s Champions League Spot, Rekindle Nigeria-Ghana Rivalry

Bayelsa Queens will kick off their campaign in the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B Qualifiers with a highly anticipated clash against Ghana’s Police Ladies on Sunday at the Stade Charles Konan Banny, Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.

The fixture, which opens Group B action, is slated for 4pm kick off, revives the long-standing Nigeria-Ghana football rivalry as both sides battle for early supremacy in the competition.

The Prosperity Girls, as Bayelsa Queens are fondly called, have strengthened their squad with some of the finest talents in the Nigerian Women’s Football League and are targeting a strong start as they aim to progress beyond the group stage.

Only the winner of the WAFU B regional qualifiers will book a ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League later this year, joining other zonal champions from across the continent in Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
