Nigeria was initially awarded hosting rights for the regional tournament, which is scheduled to hold in September.

However, in a statement from WAFU B headquarters in Abidjan, the body confirmed that the event will now take place in the Ivory Coast.

The decision follows delays caused by ongoing renovation works at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, one of the facilities originally proposed to stage matches.

Alongside Ikenne, the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta had also been listed as a venue.

With the change in venue, the Ivory Coast will now welcome participating nations for the competition, which is set to run from September 11 to 25, 2025
