Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership champions, Bayelsa Queens, have arrived in Cote d’Ivoire ahead of the 2025 WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League, which kicks off on August 23.
The Prosperity Girls touched down in Abidjan on Wednesday before heading to Yamoussoukro, where they will play their group stage matches starting on Friday.

Led by head coach Whyte Ogbonda, the team is scheduled to hold a light training session today before moving to the competition venue.
The Nigerian champions have bolstered their squad with top talents from the domestic league, working on discipline, teamwork, and tactical sharpness in preparation for the continental challenge.
Bayelsa Queens have been drawn in Group B alongside Police Ladies of Ghana, ASKO of Togo, and Sam Nelly of Benin Republic.
Their opening match will be against Ghana’s Police Ladies on August 24, 2025.
Club Chairman, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, stressing that the Queens are in Cote d’Ivoire to make Nigeria proud and secure a spot in the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The WAFU B tournament will run from August 23 to September 5, 2025.
