Sports247 reports that, although Dessers admitted his side should have made the best of playing at home in Ibrox Stadium, he is happy with how they responded after getting a 59th-minute red card.
The Gers had a player sent off just eight minutes after their visitors scored the game’s first goal, and it took a penalty in five minutes of added time to help them end the game in a draw.
The 30-year-old Dessers, who could not score in 99 minutes of action, admitted, “It was a difficult result, personally and as a team. I think we did not play well in the first half. We could not stay on top and needed to create open chances.
“In the second half, for the first 15 minutes, we also made it very difficult for ourselves. After that, we got a very good reaction and kept going till the end.”
Dessers concluded by taking a look at the positives from the game, which he described as an eye-opener about what Rangers need to do in order to smile at the end of each match.
“We need to start each game like we played the last 30 minutes. We showed a reaction, even with ten against 11.
“We pushed them back, and we had some chances at the end. We kept on pushing, not giving up, and that could be the only positive from this game,” Dessers submitted.
