Bright Osayi-Samuel Seeks ‘Extra Push’ To Win Matches With Birmingham City

Birmingham City of England summer signing, Bright Osayi-Samuel, has admitted that he and his colleagues need an extra push and more effort in order to win matches this season in the lower division, English Championship.

Sports247 reports that Osayi-Samuel, who was signed from Fernebahce of Turkey in the middle of last month, played all 90 minutes on his debut for The Blues against Ipswich Town, but was unhappy that his team had to eventually settle for a 1-1 draw.

The former Blackpool and Queens Park Rangers of England right-back, however, acknowledged the electrifying atmosphere provided by Birmingham’s fans at their home ground, Saint Andrew’s Stadium, and described it as amazing.

Osayi-Samuel recalled, “It was amazing. Of course, I’ve been in Turkey, where it’s crazy there, but I don’t think I’ve seen an atmosphere like this in England.”

He then cast a look at the run of play and, though he gave himself top marks for lasting the distance and picking up some high individual stats, Osayi-Samuel admitted that he and his teammates will have to put in more effort for each upcoming game.

“It was good and, for me, it was important that we got the draw. It gives us that extra push that we need for every game, home and away.

“It’s a long season, and we will definitely need to push hard. So, I think this is a good start,” opined the 27-year-old defender, who was born in Okrika, Rivers State.
