Rasheedat Ajibade Seeks Enabling Environment, Proper Conditions For Female Footballers

Super Falcons’ captain at the recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Rasheedat Ajibade, has issued a clarion call for what she referred to as enabling environment and proper conditions for female footballers in Nigeria.

Sports247 reports that, in what could be a semblance of the metaphoric giving fish as a gift or teaching someone how to fish, Ajibade reasoned an enabling environment is as important as the monetary reward the Falcons got for winning their 10th WAFCON title.

The former FC Robo Queens of Lagos and Atletico Madrid of Spain winger posited, “The money given is not the biggest part of it. Money is important, but there are a lot of other things that are also involved.

“For instance, the environment that helps the players to thrive. The money for us was way beyond what we expected.

“We need the money, but it’s equally important that there should be an enabling environment. We need a professional environment and proper conditions that help players perform to optimal level.”
